The story behind EHC

Built Through Practice, Refined Through Results

Equine Hydrotherapy Center was created to provide a level of specialist equine rehabilitation that had not previously been commercially available in the Middle East. From the outset, the center was built around far more than equipment. It was built around carefully developed procedures, individual assessment and repeatable rehabilitation systems.

We treated horses belonging to leading international showjumpers visiting the Middle Eastern competition circuit, alongside horses flown in from surrounding countries specifically to receive rehabilitation and hydrotherapy treatment at the center.

Our work extended across elite sport, rehabilitation after injury, preventative conditioning and structured return-to-performance programs. Each horse was treated as an individual, with workload, water depth, speed, duration and progression adapted to its condition, discipline and stage of recovery.

The knowledge shared in the Equine Rehabilitation guide series was not developed in theory. It grew from the daily work of operating a high-volume specialist center, treating complex cases and refining techniques through practical results.

Experience shared internationally

From Operating One Center to Helping Develop Many

The systems developed at EHC were subsequently used to train veterinarians, support other rehabilitation centers and advance the practical application of equine hydrotherapy.

01

Original Rehabilitation Programs

Greg Neil pioneered his own rehabilitation and water-treadmill programs, adapting water levels, speeds, session structures and progressive workloads to each horse's needs and discipline.

02

Veterinary Training

Veterinarians in the UAE, United States and United Kingdom were trained in hydrotherapy rehabilitation techniques and the practical principles behind safe, progressive programs.

03

Industry Recognition

As an early adopter of specialist equine hydrotherapy, Greg received a grandfather qualification through the UK Equine Hydrotherapy Association based on his experience, case studies and documented rehabilitation successes.

04

Center Planning

Rehabilitation businesses around the world were supported with center planning, equipment selection, operational design and decisions about the systems required to treat horses effectively.

05

International Staff Training

Teams were trained not only to operate equipment, but to understand rehabilitation progression, horse observation, program adjustment and consistent treatment procedures.

06

Knowledge Made Accessible

The Equine Rehabilitation series brings this practical experience together into structured resources for owners, riders, students and equine professionals worldwide.

Discipline-specific rehabilitation

Different Sports. Different Demands. Individual Programs.

The physical demands placed on a racehorse are not the same as those placed on a dressage horse or international showjumper. EHC developed specialized approaches appropriate to each discipline, stage of recovery and intended return to work.

Systems that made scale possible

Up to 110 Treatments Per Day—Without Losing Individual Care

At its peak, Equine Hydrotherapy Center completed as many as 110 treatments in a day. That volume was only possible because of the specialist procedures, workflows and quality-control processes developed within the center.

Efficient operation never meant applying the same program to every horse. The systems created structure around assessment, treatment, monitoring, handover and progression so that each horse could receive individualized work within a consistent professional environment.

  • Structured intake and individual horse assessment
  • Discipline- and condition-specific program design
  • Controlled progression of speed, depth and workload
  • Consistent staff procedures and treatment records
  • Ongoing observation and program adjustment
  • Practical processes designed around safety and the horse

When every other option had been tried

Some horses arrived after their referring veterinarians believed everything had been tried—and that a return to competition was no longer realistic.

Through patient assessment, carefully structured rehabilitation and progressive return-to-performance work, EHC helped horses once considered unlikely to compete again return successfully to full competition. These cases reinforced one of the center's central principles: rehabilitation is not a shortcut or a single treatment, but a disciplined process built around the individual horse.
